Let’s assume you had not observed any TV for the past ten years.  The last time you observed anything, you were watching analog programs and the only control you had over what you observed came by changing the channel and hoping something better was on or recording a program on a VCR.  You enjoyed TV, but definitely failed to find it extremely flexible and, at time, it looked extraordinarily inconvenient. 

Now lets say that, after this ten year TV hiatus, you started using Comcast digital cable service.  Honestly, you would be terribly surprised.  You’d still be able to watch the Simpsons, South Park, and lots of other programs that have survived the test of time, but you’d truly notice a change in the level of flexibility you would have and with the level of control over your programming.  The boom in digital television technologies over the past decade has really increased the capability of a spectator to enjoy television and to select exactly what she or he wants to watch.  And, with Comcast, this seems to be especially true- especially with recent additions such as On Demand. 

You see, now technology like Comcast On Demand and other interactive programming is standard with each programming package and DVRs are so reasonable and so easy to use that they are quickly turning into a standard part of most households’ entertainment setup.  So, if you had taken this hypothetical ten year break in watching television, you would suddenly emerge in a world where you might pause your live TV, select whatever program you wanted to watch from a giant menu of selections, and even watch programming in the HD format as an element of your regular programming package. 

The DVR is especially key in this revolution in the way TV is viewed, thanks to its ease of use and the wide array of features it provides.  You have possibly been exposed to one of these devices by now, either thru your own residence entertainment platform or thru a pal or family members.  And, if you are like the general public, you almost certainly think it is an invention which has been a very long time coming.  In fact , the general public found VCRs and other recording devices annoying and tough to use, but still really wanted the recording power.  And, with the DVR, recording programming comes as simply as looking up shows on the on screen programming guide and pressing record.  To view them, you press the DVR button and scroll thru your recorded program until you find what you need to watch.  It really could not be easier or more intuitive. 

naturally, On Demand programming is also part of this TV viewing revolution and is quickly expanding into a bigger part of regular TV viewing.  Since it provides so much suppleness and the ability to get programming in a convenient format, there is no reason that it shouldn’t stay one of the hottest features that Comcast Cable Promotional Offers. 

Like most people, you have never taken a particularly long break from watching TV, but it can be fascinating to think about just how much the world of Comcast digital cable TV has changed during the past decade and how much these changes have improved the quality and convenience of cable TV.
