Free To Air Satellite Receivers – The Way To The World Of Entertainment

Looking for ways to get a FTA system up and running at your home? Then you’ve come to the right place. In the next few paragraphs I will explain to you what you need and how to set up the system.

The very first step is picking the right free to air equipment.

First, write a short list of all the gadgets you need to buy for the system. This way you won’t miss anything and can easily compare product features and prices on the internet. An information website on FTA satellite receiver can deliver you any information you need.

Here’s a list of the most basic parts you need to buy for the system:

The HD TV itself.

A small satellite dish.

A FTA Satellite receiver.

A low noise block.

There are some people who think that you should always buy the latest and greatest, fresh on the market. The trick is to compare offers on the internet and read customer reviews.

Next, decide where you’re going to watch television – on your TV screen or your computer. Yes, you can watch TV on your computer, I know some people who do that all the time and they actually prefer it because they can browse the net or chat with friends during commercial breaks.

When you have decided which products you want and where you want to watch TV you can start to purchase and install the Free to Air equipment.

Usually you can do the whole installation yourself. When installing the dish, try a few spots before you install it completely – find the spot with the best signal. If the place is on your roof, make sure you take safety precautions and always have someone by your side to help you in the case of an emergency!

There you have it. As soon as everything is in place you can watch HD TV without ever paying a cable company ever again.

Direct TV or Charter Cable Service

Two of the big companies in the cable TV market today are Charter cable and DIRECTV satellite television.  If these big media companies are on your radar when it comes to choosing a satellite or cable company, you may be confused about what they claim to offer, and how much it is going to cost. One thing you can do is sit down and make a list of what each company has to offer, and of course price out everything they offer.  Lets consider a few points to factor in when shopping for DIRECTV vs Charter cable.

Hi Definition – While both cable and satellite now offer hi def content, Dish beats Charter cable quite handily as far as the HD channel count goes. Direct TV claims over 130 hi definition networks, though that number is a bit inflated.  They in reality have approximately 90 when you remove the pay per view channels. Charter TV maxes out at 60 in the best case, and many areas have far fewer HD channels depending on the network.

Sports content – You will be able to find lots of sports content with either provider, as both carry all of the local networks and ESPN. But if you want out of market sports content, DirecTV satellite is the best selection.  They have exclusive rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket package, but it doesn’t stop there. Other packages found on satellite TV but missing from Charter cable include the NBA League Pass and the NASCAR Hotpass serires.

Bundled options – One downfall of satellite TV service is that they do not have the ability to compete with Charter service when it comes to the triple play bundle. Charter communications can offer bundled services which also add high speed internet access and long distance calling through your home phone. Consolidating these services with your cable television company is convenient as far as customer service issues.

So which company is the right one for you? Only you can decide which is best for your situation and for your family.  While HD content and premium sports content may be top priorities for some of us, they aren’t a big deal to others. Reviewing both services and the overall costs will insure that you make the right decision for your situation.

Five Reasons to Switch to Dish TV Satellite

100% Hi Definition Service.

If you’re a cable TV subscriber, your service provider most likely carries around 20 to 50 channels in hi def. But if you have access to satellite television, chances are you’re enjoying up to 100 channels that have nice crisp pictures and flawless reception.

At this time, not even the biggest cable companies like Comcast, Time Warner, Brighthouse, Cox and Charter Cable can compare to DirecTV’s 130+ channels you can see in HD. By the end of the year, DirecTV projects satellite TV subscribers will be watching up to150 channels in high definition. Put that HDTV to good use and maximize your viewing experience through satellite dish TV!

View More, Pay Less.

The pro-con list could go on and satellite would still emerge superior to its cable counterpart. However, it all boils down to this: You get to see more for a price that won’t burn a hole in your pocketbook. With satellite, you get more features, more movies, more music, more cartoons, more sports, more HD! You will be getting more of almost everything each and every month. Great sports programming like the NBA League package are also available for an extra charge. What more could you ask for?

Free Set-up.

Most cable TV companies charge you up to 0 for sending out a technician to hook up your TV sets. Satellite TV providers Dish Network and DirecTV offer free installation and setup in order to make things easy. You no longer have to worry about reading the fine print or fees that cable companies (over)charge one time or monthly.

Multi-media Difference.

Radio on TV?! The limits of media are once again broken, but in a good way. Subscription to Dish Network gives you access to Sirius Satellite, so you can listen to great music all day long once you’re tired of watching tv.

Family Friendly Packages.

With your current cable subscription you get basic packages with channels picked for you. However, satellite TV services from Dish Network and DirecTV program bundles that will cater to all members of the family. Everyone should be able to enjoy viewing without worrying what they young ones are seeing. These satellite packages ensure that children access age-appropriate as well as educational shows.  Even better, many foreign language packages are available like the Dish TV French language bundle which can bring your native tongue home.

Comparing your local cable company, such as Direct TV vs Comcast cable might save you some money. Switch now to a great DirecTV deal if you don’t want to regret missing out on anything.

Comparing Comcast vs DIRECTV

Ever since the creation of the TV set, it has been the top media channel in the modern world. In the United States alone, there are hundreds of millions of people who rely on television for both information from news and entertainment from daily scheduled programming. Today, a popular method of TV broadcasting is done via cable networks.

Cable television or CATV was commonly used in mountainous regions where broadcast signals are weak, so they used coaxial cables to broadcast television programming. Today, it is a common television service and in the United States there are a lot of cable providers to choose from. Unfortunately though in most areas, you will just have one cable TV company serving your area, so if you want something different, you will have to go with satellite TV. This is not always a bad thing, its a good idea to line up the companies side by side, comparing Comcast vs DirecTV satellite.

The top cable provider in the United States is Comcast, it is by far the largest cable company in the country. It also offers internet service and is currently in second place and fourth place in providing telephone service. However, they have a reputation for having some of the worst customer service among any company or government agency in the United States. Next is Cox cable, which is owned by Cox enterprises. They have nearly 6 million subscribers to their cable service, internet and phone service. They are currently the third largest cable company in the country. The third largest in terms of revenue is Charter Cable TV company. In terms of revenue, they are behind only from Timewarner and Comcast. Then we have Bright House cable which is the sixth largest cable TV company. Most of these companies now also offer home phone service.

Many are satisfied with the Comcast basic cable packages, however if these do not catch your fancy you can also turn to satellite TV companies like Dish Network satellite who also provides high definition or HD service for those who want it. The only problem being it is sometimes difficult to get Dish Network in your condo
